This website
The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: fonts and audio are served from our own server in Germany. Like every web server, ours writes a short access log (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) to keep the service secure. These logs are deleted after 14 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
If you switch the site to dark or light mode, that choice is stored only in your own browser.
The Lexo app: what we collect
- Account: your Apple user identifier, and your name and email only if you choose to share them (you can use Apple's private relay email).
- Learning data: your learning language and level, saved words and phrases with the sentence and text they came from, practice history and reading progress.
- Text you look up: the word or phrase you select and its sentence, to create an explanation and audio.
- Technical: app version and crash information. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone, so we don't receive a push token. We do not collect location, contacts, photos or advertising identifiers.
Why we use it
To provide the app: sign-in, syncing your words and cards across devices, explanations and audio (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and to keep the service secure and fix errors (Art. 6(1)(f)). We don't sell data, show ads, or track you across apps or websites.
Who processes it for us
- Hosting: Contabo GmbH, servers in Germany.
- AI explanations and speech: OpenAI, USA. We send only the selected text, its sentence and your level, never your name, email or account ID. Transfers are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept until you delete your account. We then erase your account and learning data within 30 days, including backups. Explanations are cached without any personal data so other learners can reuse them.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing. Email hello@logiico.net. You can also complain to the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI).
Delete your account
In the app: Me → Delete account. This removes your account and learning data and disconnects Sign in with Apple. You can also email us to delete it.
Children
Lexo is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
