Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 October 2026 · Beta terms, draft
The Lexo app is in beta. These terms cover the beta. In the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement (EULA) also applies.
The service
Lexo helps you learn a language with short, level-adapted texts based on current news, explanations of words and phrases, and spaced-repetition practice. Lexo is provided by the person named in the Impressum.
The beta
Beta versions may change, contain errors or be unavailable at times. Features and limits may change before the final release. The beta is free.
Explanations are generated by AI
Texts and explanations are created with the help of AI and checked by rules, not by a person for every case. They can contain mistakes. Use them for learning, not as a source of facts about the news or as professional translation.
News content
Learning texts are short adaptations of public news reporting, with the source named. Follow the link to the original source for the full story.
Fair use
Use Lexo for your own learning. Don't try to access it automatically, copy its content in bulk, or disrupt the service. New AI lookups may be limited per day to keep the service running.
Your account
You sign in with Apple and can delete your account at any time in the app (Me → Delete account). See the Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations, limited to typical, foreseeable damage. Statutory liability that cannot be limited remains unaffected.
Law
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in the EU, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country also apply.
